Barn Swallow #3

225.00

Did you ever sit on a grassy field or perhaps on a shore looking out over a lake watching the swallows zip around around doing their acrobatic maneuvers? Fond memories of spring afternoons inspired these little barn swallow sculptures.

Made of thin strips of white oak and reclaimed fir, these barn swallows are purely for fun. I imagine them hanging from the ceiling or maybe sitting on a mantel. Put them somewhere that people can enjoy the details of how they are assembled: No metal or glue. These pieces are entirely lashed together with the various bits notched into place. These are assembled using the same construction techniques as my whales, but much smaller. Each one is different, with wings higher or lower, tails forked wider or narrower, and other differences in the hand carved bodies.
