First built in the Spring of 2017, these were built as a way to take the lessons learned from building the humpback whales and apply them to something new and smaller. I had so much fun building the prototype that I followed it up with an initial run of 10. Each is different with the angle of the wings, head, and tail altered for different flying poses. They are lots of fun displayed individually or as several flying together. Made of Oregon White Oak and reclaimed fir, lashed together with artificial sinew. They are fumed with ammonia to darken the oak and finished with linseed oil.
